Beware of this company

I had to take the rental center bus then another bus after the Car Rental center. This is another thing that was not explained before renting. The passenger that was before me told me to be careful because they tried to charge him double price. He left and went to find a different place to rent. I thought.."Ok, here we go!". I just changed my drivers license and had the hole punch and official document until my new drivers license arrives. The Mex Rent A Car agent advised me that because of Covid it is mandatory they charge additional insurance because I had a temporary and that all of the rental companies in San Diego were doing it (I called Alamo in San Diego and they advised they never heard of this policy...he said "well, it's our policy"). I paid an additional $68 that I wasn't planning on. I also asked the agent if I wanted to extend my car for several hours what is the policy. He advised I had to return it by 2pm (One hour leniency) the day of the return or I would have at pay an additional day. I made sure I returned it by 2pm the day of the return. No one was out to check in the car. I went to the agent desk and he said it was the guy out washing cars. After finally getting his attention he come and looked at the car and left. We came in 3 hours early because we didn't want to be charged another day. We later found out the guy checked us in at 3:30 pm and charge us for another day. BE CAREFUL of these guys. Don't rent from them. They will find ways to charge you extra.
